New EON fix - penalties for early cancellation confusion

I've been offered the new EON one-year fix. It's a marginal decision but I am considering it. I am confused though about any cancellation feels if I exit early, and the EON website isn't much help.

I fully understand that if I switch supplier I will incur the fees, but what if I switch to another EON Tariff?

The tariff highlights box says: 'Exit fees (if you cancel this tariff before the end date) - £75' - which would suggest the fee applies even if I switch within EON. However the full Ts&Cs say: '
You can arrange to switch to another of our tariffs or to another supplier at any time without giving notice, but if you switch supplier before we send you your renewal notice we may charge you an exit fee' which suggests it is free if you swithc 'within' EON.

Ive been waiting all morning for an answer from EON - no reply.

Has anyoen else asked/checked this?

Presumably the Ts & Cs override the highlights box if there's any conflict?
Might be better not to ask questions now but just make a formal complaint if you switch to the SVT or whatever and get charged the exit fee.

I used Whatsapp to ask them the same question last week. They confirmed to me within a few minutes that you are free to drop back to the standard tariff at any time WITHOUT the £75 per fuel fees.

I only asked because i grabbed the Loyalty 12M fixed July 2023 release 1 because of the big standard charge savings, but i could be tempted to drop to the SVR over the winter months if i see that unit prices are staying lower (gas especially).

Seems short sighted as surely people will just drop to variable tariff then change supplier.

I actually got thru to EDF Customer Services chat last week re my current gas fix until 30th June 24, asking whether I could move to the SVT after 1st July WITHOUT the £100 penalty - said not at the moment -wonder if the attitude may change once the new tariffs apply ? If not ,I'll probably do it anyway as the payback will be mid November on current predictions.

I have already signed up for the E.ON Loyalty 12M Fix V1, which has been withdrawn already. I received my latest bill yesterday, stating that I could switch to V2! But I am confident that it will be possible to drop back to SVR without an ETC. Only once have I had an ETC when switching tariff at same supplier, and that was with First Utility.
