Barclaycard closing down card account for UK non-residents

Has anyone managed to overcome the extreme shortsightedness of Barclays who are shutting down my Barclaycard (which has a UK address) and which I have held for over 40 years, because I am a non-resident, (with a Barclays International account - which has a non-UK address)?

You won't be able to. If their policy is to only offer credit to UK residents, then you do not qualify regardless of where you have your correspondence sent to.
