Wedding Dress Refund
asms
I bought a wedding dress and less then 12 hours later I regretted it. The more I looked at the pictures the more I realised I hated the dress.
I called the shop to explain that I made a mistake, and begged them for a refund. The dress was of the peg so the shop did not have to order one for me. They refused to give me a refund. I bought the dress with an Amex card, is there anything I can do to try to get my money back?

I’m presuming you bought in store? If so then there is no obligation to refund for a change of mind, regardless of how you paid.
You could ask if they will give a credit note for an exchange?
If you bought online, in which country is the company based? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

Unless the shop has their own policy, which it sounds like this one doesn't.You also won't be able to claim a chargeback/s75 refund from Amex just because you changed your mind. Can you not ask the shop if you can exchange it for another dress?

Thanks for answering, I was afraid that would be the case! I didn't hold too much hope that I could get a refund from Amexpowerful_Rogue said:asms said:I bought a wedding dress and less then 12 hours later I regretted it. The more I looked at the pictures the more I realised I hated the dress.

Unless there was an actual fault with the dress that the retailer refused to handle, the credit card company will not be interested.0

There's no right to a refund for in-store purchases (unless there's a fault and they don't fix or replace). So you could try
- negotiate with them to exchange / give you store credit
- negotiate with them to buy back the dress at a discount
- sell the dress on yourself online
- get the dress modified / altered to a shape you prefer or embellishments to your liking0
