Charge Charge Issue

Hi everyone,

In a tricky situation at the moment…

My partner crossed and paid for the dart charge using my car (she’s insured on it) but she never received an email receipt, didn’t think anything of it as it was a successful payment.

Dart Charge then tried charging my account automatically but my card was blocked due to an issue with it so they couldn’t process that payment and decided to issue me with a PCN despite already paying for the crossing using another card / account name.

I have phoned them up several times explaining this but they have no record of the payment despite us having a bank statement, they can’t find the transaction anywhere in their system, but we’ve paid for it! We didn’t use a dodgy website or a fake one, it was done via the gov website.

Not sure what to do here, we need to pay £70 because they can’t seem to find our transaction in their old outdated systems (their words!)

any advice?

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets (including Dart charges). Register there but please note that a Hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway Gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering, and post a new thread; here's your link:

Read the sticky 'Read this before you post' as well as reading through some of the other threads there ahead of posting your own details, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
