Associate On CheckMyFile

Hi,

I am a paid subscriber to CheckMyFile and have noticed their is an associate in my name. The search was conducted by Equifax, and confirmed by HSBC.

I wasn’t sure this was possible in the first place for an association to show up in my name, and would this drop off after several months as I imagine this is affecting my credit rating in a negative way?

Do you mean you're financially associated with another person?  This only happens where you have (or have had) a joint financial product with them (a common scenario being husband and wife who have a joint mortgage).  A financial association won't disappear unless you actively dis-associate yourself from that person, following the proper procedure.
As a slight aside, there's no need to pay to access your credit files, all 3 are available for free (information on the main MSE site).
