I am told by my employer that CPC training has been stopped for those with acquired rights. Is that true, I have looked on the .gov web site and it looks like they still do it.

I have done my first five years of training and it runs out in 2023. Some people think its a waste of time, but when I took the theory test, some drivers got really low scores, in the 70% region. We had one guy fail the reaction test.
We should already know all these things, but some don't. I took my driving test in 1981

Reading the link, it looks to me that even with acquired rights, there's still training.

I'm in the waste of time group. I paid for mine privately with a large HGV/PCV training company and as long as you sat in the classroom every day a pass certificate was issued. Two in my group spoke no English, one brought a friend to translate and the other just sat there all day.

That is what I thought, but it's unclear. I am acquired right, but driving a 16 seater, it mentions bus, but not 16 seats.
I didn't one day per year, for five years, but that runs out this month.
I can see why some people think that CPC is a waste of time, but no training, ever, is not a good option.

Looking on the Government web site, it says CPC training is required for the non emergency ambulances, which is very similar to my job.
