Not 100% sure how it works in Scotland but the day you move out make a claim for your full deposit back1

will do thank you, basically on the day we leave they are going come in and do an inspection after we have gone...they will then contact us regards the deposit etc and any issues that they find. I am guessing (given the treatment over last decade) they will find some bone of contention to pick us on...but given that flat has been in decent enough condition, albeit a few soft goods like cutlery etc broken or forks replaced, I am ready to stand my ground on this one. Thank you for the advice and supportdimbo61 said:Not 100% sure how it works in Scotland but the day you move out make a claim for your full deposit back

Make sure you wipe down the top of cupboards and window sills, scrub out the loo and take photos/video of everything before you leave. And don't leave anything in the loft.
They can get you for hand marks on the paint work but not for threadbare clean carpet. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1
