Fly screen

Fancy getting fly screen/s for our French doors.  Any advice from anyone. Do we need one to pull across or should they be 2 which join in the middle. Completely new to this other than looking online. Are they easy to fit or best to have them fitted? Also cost?

www.streme.co.uk supplied our pet screens, including screens for our French doors.  The two sliding screens fit inside an aluminium frame, and abut in the middle when both are closed.

They do fly screens as well, the difference being that the mesh will be lighter and finer.  However, the frame and the two sliding panels seem similar to ours, hence the price not being much less than the £500 we paid.

We have their hinged window screens on our bedroom and kitchen windows, and they do keep flying pests out as well as keeping our pedigree house cat in. Don't know how we would cope in hot weather without them.

ADD.  They do offer a measuring and fitting service, but it depends on where you live.  We are north of Watford Gap, so it was a no - but their measuring instructions were very easy to follow, and Mr S and his trusty drill didn't have a problem fitting them.

Magnetic fly screen - two parts with magnets in the middle - cheap yet very convenient and easy to fit (if it's the right size). You just walk though it and it closes behind

Yes we tried that last year and you're right very good, this is what has convinced me to buy the more substantial type.

Ours are as well.  They are in a recess, and the screen frame is fitted to either side of the recess rather than the door frame itself.

But there are lots of ways, and customer services are super helpful.  Part of the measuring process includes sending them pics of your doors and the surround, so I'm sure they'll be able to explain the best way to fit the screens.

Ours are over 3 years old now, and still look as good as the day they were fitted.
