Agile vs. Tracker - differences other than cost?
Options
For my pattern of usage there appears to be very little difference in cost between Agile and Tracker. Agile has a slight advantage (0.5 p/kWh) but not enough to get excited about. Are there any differences between the T's and C's or anything else that would make swapping from Agile to Tracker (or vice versa) worth considering? Thanks, Mike

At the moment you can switch from Agile back to the SVT and after 30 days change your mind and go back to another smart tariff e.g. Octopus GO or back to Agile. Lot of new rules with tracker including from I what have seen a wait period to come off the tariff (14 days) and no going back for at least 9 months.2

By far the biggest difference is that Tracker is a unit price for a day whereas Agile changes every 30 minutes. The latter requires the consumer to load shift to get the lowest overall unit price for a day. Also, I have never seen Tracker pay the consumer to use energy.3

As others have said, if you can avoid the evening peak Agile is likely to work out cheaper than Tracker. If I hadn't been accepted for Go, I would have chosen Agile.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.

Thanks for the replies - there's a lot of enthusiasm for Tracker on the forum and I wanted to check that I hadn't overlooked anyhting obvious. It's very easy for me to avoid the evening peak which is why I chose Agile. My plan is to play with IFTTT over the summer to learn how it works and get ready for optimising the way I use Agile over winter. I'm replacing the controls on my Fischer Future Heat radiators with smart controls at the moment with a view to using IFTTT integrations to switch them on to provide background heat when the electricity price is low.
