Solar Feed In Tariff
Options
I have had Solar Panels since 2011 so I am on the highest rate of Feed in Tariff. However my next quarterly payment due next month covers 1st March until 31st May. March is paid on the previous years rate of 60.23 p/Kw (the rates change on the 1st April) whilst April and May are on the newer rate which is 68.3p/Kw. However looking at last years payments EDF paid me more for March 22 at the lower rate and less for April/May 22 at the higher rate. Is this normal or can I challenge EDF over the amounts paid for March (at the rate of 60.23p/Kw) and April/May (at the rate of 68.3p/Kw)?

You can certainly ask EDF how they apportion your generation between the two periods, and then see if the have applied that method correctly.

Just to say that we are in the same position as you and also with EDF for our FIT payments, we also had our panels fitted in 2011 our FIT quarters are read on the 1st day of March, June, September and December.
Initially I would take a picture of our generation meter reading on the 1st April and contact EDF when we submitted our quarterly readings on June 1st as they would otherwise estimate it.
This wasn’t as easy as you might think and in the end we decided to just live with their estimates.
With our FIT rates so high and the fact that we left EDF for electricity supply and surprisingly the speeds of their payments of FIT were not affected, we are happy with the way things are.

BTW ….This thread might be better in the ‘ Green & ethical Money Saving’ forum as that’s where most solar threads are.SMA 4000TL Inverter, 17 REC 235PE Panels, South facing, roof angle \ `ish, 3995 watt system.Installed Nov 2011.0
