Tcl TV and streaming apps not working

Hi. Need some help here. I have a tcl TV , has been working fine for about 18months, all of a sudden netflix and Disney just freeze and won't play, yesterday netflix threw an error about "having trouble playing this title ...please try again later" I uninstalled netflix , reinstalled , cleared cache etc in the end i restarted the tv and network switch (TV , Xbox and sky are hardwired) that seemed to fix it. Today my daughter tried watching something and it was slow again, freezing , suddenly speeding up, blank screen. I tried Disney and that also seemed slow.
I did a speed test on router and that's fine, I have also tested the Xbox on same switch and that's downloading at nearly 500mb so it's not a router issue or link cable.
I'm stuck for ideas. I can't keep turning everything off. Has anyone got a solution that works?
Is it a known issue due to an upgrade(I can't find anything about it).

Personally, have always found the built in apps in each TV I've had to be problematic over time (LG, Samsung & Sony). Even on a brand new TV older external devices like FireStick, Chrome, AppleTV all work quicker and more reliably.
I'd get an external streamer and use that.0 -
We have a Roku on a nother TV which seems ok. I just begrudge having to plug something else in. We only really use netflix on main TV or sky. I'll look at an external though to see if improves it. Thanks.0

Have you checked that TV is on latest firmware update?
Also factory reset option as well?0 -

That's like stating that you have a (brand name) car. You might have just left out TCL altogether, for all the information that gives.
What about warranty/guarantee?0 -

Many TCL TV's run on an android system similar to an android phone. Other brands are more likely to have their own modified system. If you have Google Play on your system it's android and the place to start would be by updating your apps from the google play store.0
