Annoyingly I forgot my packed lunch today, meaning I had to buy lunch at work. I don’t know exactly how much - you email your order and get billed at some point. It will be about £4.00 I think.Husband wants to go out for dinner tomorrow so going to look for a voucher or offer if I can.
Set up another pot in my Monzo account for my holiday - we’ve pre-booked a day trip to Cairo which is about £500. I’ll be using some of my overtime money for it. I love the fact you can put photos on your pot - I’ve added a photo of the pyramids. Currently has £2 in it! 🤣
Happy to colour in my first 5 squares for my £50 into my emergency fund.
Also, started listening to an audio book by Dave Ramsey’s daughter. It’s about the psychology behind money habits. Really quite interesting. My Debt Free journey - started 1 May 2023. Goal date October 2026 May 2026 April 2026

Hmmmm… Apparently I find the “no spend” concept very difficult. Bought two plants to replace some that had been dug up by squirrels in the garden. £9.50 that I hadn’t planned to spend.
BUT, on the upside, DH decided he didn’t want to go out for dinner after all and instead we bought “fancy pasta”, sauce and ice-cream for under £10.
Also I’ve done £6.30 worth of prolific surveys today and more overtime.
M&S credit card statement has arrived meaning I can budget the exact amount needed to pay it off later this month. There’s only £178 left on it and I want to just clear it to get that first quick win.

Spent £2.70 today on some groceries. The actual grocery budget (from the joint account) is looking a little sad at the moment, and with 10 days still to pay day I popped these few bits on to my account.
Been doing some of my extra work and also did a long survey on Prolific this morning which netted £2.30. Also had £3 come into my paypal account for a side hustle I have. At the moment, I'm not spending any of the side hustle money - that's actually where the £1000 that's buffering my rather large overdraft comes from. I know I will have some expenses to pay out from the account so I don't want to take anything out of it at the moment to use for savings or debts.
However, I did decide to transfer the £294 overtime money into my monzo account. Paid £53 into the Pyramid trip, £100 into London trip, and £141 to a family trip.
Budget currently saying £80 left at end of the month, but we will see...

Added to this... I was clearing out my emails and came across one from Avios saying my Avios points were going to expire. After a bit of faffing around I discovered I had approx £50 worth of points and there is a wine club where you can spend them. A bit more faffing about and I have got 2 x full size bottles of Sipsmith gin coming that cost me £7.50 in shipping and tax costs. I am a gin drinker so very happy with this bargain and not wasting the avios points.
OK, so I had to use the Avios credit card to pay the shipping and this does not help with the "no spend" philosophy, but I'm also going with the "no waste" philosophy too...My Debt Free journey - started 1 May 2023. Goal date October 2026 May 2026 April 2026

After a bit of an argument with OH this morning about the lack of ice packs in the house (where do they all go??) and it being 30 degrees out there, I ordered a new pack of ice packs from Amazon this morning at a cost of £4.79.
I've requested approx £9 payout from Prolific - waiting for it to arrive.
I'm going to try to PAD - so put £3.16 into my emergency fund to round it up to £55.My Debt Free journey - started 1 May 2023. Goal date October 2026 May 2026 April 2026

Aiming for a NSD today. Very tired though as DD1 (at Uni) was unwell last night and texted me all through the night every time she was sick. Poor thing, being sick when you’re on your own like that is not nice.
I’m still working extra hours - 3-4 hrs online each night. The money is good and it will only last a few weeks so you have to make hay while the sun shines.
Did a long yougov survey this morning which I think netted me £1.10. Hoping the Prolific withdrawal arrives today. My Debt Free journey - started 1 May 2023. Goal date October 2026 May 2026 April 2026

Successful NSD and my Prolific payment of £9.06 came through which has gone into my emergency fund. This takes it to an impressive £64 😂 but I was able to colour another square in my colouring grid.
I found myself tempted by an advert last night. An advert for a new knitting pattern for a fabulous chunky multi-coloured jacket. Of course that would have meant buying the yarn as well - total cost approx £40. In the past I would have thought nothing of buying that, and if I thought it was too close to the end of the month, I would have just ordered it on my credit card. But I knew that I have about £70 left unaccounted and I realised I didn’t want to spend over half of that on a craft project that might not even get knitted. Plus I want as much of that left as possible to go into the EF.
This made me go through my spreadsheet and realise I’ve spent approx £360 on unplanned spends. I’m going to attempt to cut that down to £100 next pay month. I’m trying to do a no spend month in June but my pay month goes from 22-21 of the month. So, attempt to keep no spend till end of June, then £100 “spends” allowance starts from July 1st.My Debt Free journey - started 1 May 2023. Goal date October 2026 May 2026 April 2026

Well done on resisting the temptation! I have so much yarn and fabric bought with a plan, but got it so long ago I don't even remember what the plan was. And a lot of it was bought on a CC! 😬 At least I sold some of it at the beginning of my debt free journey.
I won't mention the beautiful black linen I bought a couple of weeks back... oops too late 🤣
Hope DD is better! I've been up since 4.30 with Child2, had a nosebleed and we couldn't go back to sleep after that.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

@jokono Thanks so much for commenting! I am planning on selling a few bits of my yarn stash although it will pain me to do it! But I have a few high end yarns that I know I definitely won’t use so may as well try to sell it. That’s a plan for when the overtime ends in a few weeks. My Debt Free journey - started 1 May 2023. NSD again today.
PAD £2.44 into EF.
I spent some time today drawing out a tracker in the back of my journal to track paying of the extortionate overdraft I have. Really want to see that reducing.
