Glad to be able to encourage you.  Imagine if you put £5 a month away you could buy some pens and/or stickers too 😉
no prizes for guessing that I love stationery!
  • My planner arrived and it is beautiful and worth every penny! It’s now tucked away in the cupboard ready for later in the year.
I’m off for half term this week and trying hard to think of ways to avoid temptation. I’m busy prepping stuff for my side hustle as well which will hopefully give me some extra money next month.
Currently got £20 in the overpay pot. Not sure I’ll be able to squeeze much more in there this month.

Enjoy half term.  £20 to overpay is better than £20 overspent.
  • Hello! It’s been a while but the good news is that things are still on track! I’ll update my stats later but I can see I have knocked £7000 off my debt since I was last here in February and that feels amazing.

i have just received my first reduced pay as I have now dropped my management responsibilities. I know the next 2 months are going to be difficult but I will then get a back-dated payrise at the end of November which will help. But it is quite a tight budget until then so I have to be very strict with myself. I’ve also had a prang in my car which I have to pay out about £450 for the excess. I do have an emergency fund so the money is there but I really, really resent taking any money out of that account! I can’t believe how much I have changed.
Also got an optician appointment and I know I will need new varifocals. I prefer to use our local family run optician, but they are much more expensive. But I also know the quality of the actual glasses are much better than specsavers. Currently thinking I’ll buy my main glasses from local, and sun glasses from specsavers. Seems like a good compromise to me.
I’m going to try to come back on here daily to help keep me on track, especially over the next 2 months when things will be much tighter. Need to plan ahead for some meals out such as Christmas meals and a colleague’s leaving do. Hope everyone else is doing ok. I’ll be catching up with some threads this week.

That's an incredible debt reduction.  Well done
  • What a week. On Monday I slipped on a wet floor at work and broke my elbow. Had to pay £45 for my husband to get a taxi to my workplace so he could drive my car back. I guess that can come out of my petrol money for this month though as I have no idea when I will be able to drive again. My arm is currently in a sling and I have a hospital appointment next week. So it has not been a great week. Trying not to eat my feelings.  :'(
