Query about buying something when manufacturer has closed down

Hi everyone,
I need to buy a new TV but haven't much money. I found one that was on sale. I looked into the manufacturer which is EGL, and found out they closed down in 2019. Will it be a bad move to buy it?
Thanks,
Candy

You have consumer rights against the retailer, obviously any warranty wouldn't be honoured if the manufacturer no longer exists.
Have you considered second hand? Facebook or close by on eBay probably at a decent price.

Your statutory rights are with the retailer not the manufacturer so their financial stability is of more importance. You'll be buying at least a 4 year old TV with little chance of parts being available for repairs. Personally I'd be more minded to buy a secondhand TV that for the same price wont be as old and parts will be available for repair.1

Does anybody even repair TVs these days?1

Yeah, think you're right, specially about the tele already being old. I'm not going to bother. I did think about trying to get a second hand one, so that's what I'll do. Thanks alot to you all.
