Grohe Thermostatic Shower Mixer - recent drop in hot water pressure

I've got a Grohe Thermostatic Shower Mixer that was working well, but a few days ago had a drop in the hot water pressure, such that at a reasonable temperature, the shower is now pretty weak. Not down to a complete dribble, almost enough to get by, but definitely not like it used to be.

Stuff I've checked thus far:
  • I've swapped the hose and head from another shower and get similar results. Though I did identify a leak from the old hose, so this swap helped a little.
  • When cold, I get a very strong pressure out of the hose and head (both that I tried)
  • Other taps and the bath in the same room all have good hot water pressure, certainly more than this Grohe shower.
I don't know the age of the shower, could be the same age as the house (so from 2007).

Any other obvious things to check or tweak? Or is just a Thermostatic Mixer on the way out that I'll just have to replace?
Thanks!

    clean the filters
if it is the thermostatic cartridge needs replacing you can probably get a replacement part (either genuine Grohe or a generic).

Isolate water supply and check the filters are free from any debris and then turn water back on and flush the water through, then reassemble shower .
    Then check the cartridge

If cleaning the filters does not make a difference, our thermostatic shower manual recommends doing this occasionally:

Turn the shower fully on and rotate the temperature dial from cold to hot (from one extremity to the other) about six to ten times.

Try doing that. It might or might not make a difference.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".
