Question 1: Is it impossible to purchase a home while claiming LCW AND PIP? Also is it allowed if possible?
Question 2: I live with my mother and she rents, Can we buy that home together and can we both pay for it and it belongs to both of us? also if i get the property when she dies?
sorry if these are stupid questions, i’m very new to all this so its a whole new world to me.

1. Possible.... someone on benefits including means tested like U/C in your case can buy a property. Usually of course the barrier is inability to get any decent size mortgage due to circumstances (not working) and not having the significant savings necessary which would normally impact means tested benefits. The property you own and live in is not considered as capital for benefits purposes. So the question really is how will you afford it - perhaps the answer lies in Q2.
2. You can buy a property with someone else and yes you can each/both own - you would determine between you and through solicitor how you will both legally own the property and any percentage share if relevant. Your solicitor/conveyancer no doubt would advise on the different ways of owning the property (joint tenants or tenants in common) or otherwise any wills required to ensure if one party dies the other gains full ownership."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack3 -
I may be wrong, but if the house is council owned, I believe that both buyers have to be registered tenants.0
