    Thanks, I've requested a call-back.  Estimate of 7 to 8 weeks given.

Hope I'm available to receive the call, what happens if I miss it?

    All very nerve-wracking...................................

I've had two calls from 0800 731 0175 regarding making additional NI Contributions.  The first I was out of earshot so couldn't answer.  I answered the second one after just two rings and it went dead.

Shortly afterwards I received a text saying I had until June 13th (this Friday) to contact them at the above number.

This morning after 50 minutes of waiting I finally got through to an "Advisor" Ken .  He said he couldn't hear me then the line went dead.

I tried to start the entire procedure but the line went dead after a couple of minutes.

My 'phone works fine for other calls.

My online NI record still shows a missing year for 2005-2006 yet if I click on "Details" the response remains as it has done for over 2 years --- "We are checking this year to see if it counts towards your pension. We’ll update your record when this is finished, you do not need to do anything” - yet nothing is updated.

With just 4 days to this latest deadline I'm beginning to think I'll never get anywhere regarding topping up my NI contributions.

    Any advice gratefully appreciated

    Thanks

I reached State retirement age a couple of years ago and understand that I am not receiving the full State Pension because I don’t have 35 full year’s contributions.

My NI online record shows “Year is not full” against years 2021 to 2022;  2006 to 2007; 2005 to 2006

When I click against “Details” the response is “We are checking this year to see if it counts towards your pension. We’ll update your record when this is finished, you do not need to do anything

I’ve been clicking on “Details” for the last couple of years yet nothing has changed and I can’t proceed.

In March this year I requested a callback but missed the first call on 8th May. A second call on 13th May was silent after just 2 rings.

There followed a text saying I had until 13th June to contact 0800 731 0175.

This morning after 50 minutes of waiting I finally got through to an "Advisor" Ken .  He said he couldn't hear me then the line went dead.

AS far as I'm aware it's too late to pay for 2005-2006. The usual reason for that message is that you were registered as self-employed and had the opportunity to make voluntary Class 2 contributions but didn;t.

35 years is of no relevance to you as you were born last century and wil lfal under transitional rules.
How much State Pension are you currently getting  ?
how many full years do you have prior to April 2016 and after April 2016 ?

35 years of NI contributions is irrelevant to your case.

When exactly did you become eligible for the state pension and how much do you actually get right now?

Just now, another call to 0800 731 0175  cut out after 41 minutes while waiting for an "agent", very frustrating.

If I'm not eligible to top-up my contributions, fair enough.  But potentially missing out before this new deadline is worrying.

    Any advice gratefully appreciated

    Thanks

Not sure that is the right number to call, as it appears to be the Future Pension Service. This is normally only applicable before you have reached State Pension Age.
