Been offered approx £1000 more from we buy any care than dealer partx , have heard about alot of hassle with we buy any care knocking price down

Give it a go, and expect them to knock a lot off the price once they see it, but they'll have a branch near you and you can always decline the sale.

It seems that most customer comments mention a drop of a few hundred £, in some cases about 10-15% but obviously it depends on the value of the car and how much they actually want it.I certainly remember selling ours to them and they'd knocked about 25% off, but it wasn't worth much to begin with.However, I reckon if you go to WBAC expecting to lose about 20% then you shouldn't be too disappointed.Edit: This is a pretty old article, but it mentions that 96% of sellers got less than the guaranteed figure (not accounting for the fees I assume), and that the buyers had a target of reducing the figure by 25%:
