Help. its me again, the non- technophobe. I'm trying to E mail hotels in South America to book accomodation. In the past I've used the alt key along with the 3 relevant numbers ( making sure number locks on) to type Spanish accents and upside down question marks. This works in Word but doesn't work in Mozilla Thunderbird. Can anyone advise?
I suppose I could use word and send as an attachment, but is there a better way?
Thanks

Cant you just use 'i' as in the letter 'i'?
If not can you copy it from Word and paste into thunderbird.?.0 -
All you have to do is click on 'insert' in your composition window and then select 'characters and symbols' or 'character map' from the drop-down menu. This will give you the complete list of special symbols including the Spanish ones.

Thanks. I'll try that. The other one's working ok now but its not ideal for typing long passages.0

Another way of doing this is using the ALT key and the numeric keypad on the right of your keyboard. Make sure you have Num Lock on and then just hold down the ALT key and type the 3 digits for the letter you want as follows:
Capital Ñ is ALT165
ó is ALT162
é is ALT130
á is ALT160
You will find this will work in your mail programme. I use Netscape and it works fine. Monzilla is a version of Netscape. Remember though to use the numeric keypad and have Num Lock on.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, this is what I do at the moment. I've got the list but its a bit slow if you've a lot to type.0
