Hi, I received a ppi refund on a Barclays loan that I had but I can't remember any details of when or how much etc and when I've seen the ads online, they want my national insurance number. Is this correct or is there right way that I can go through where I don't need the details please. Hope someone can help me.

You don't need to pay a third party company to make a tax refund claim.
If you do that's your choice to give away upto 48% of any refund (possibly more?).
But you do need the information to be able to complete form R40.
So you would have to ask Barclays for details of the statutory interest and how much tax was deducted before doing anything else.
