DRO Next Step

Hi all,

I'm a big worrier!
I have had my interview with Wellness today, gone through my debts, answered their questions about bank statement entries etc. She accepted everything and another appointment has been booked for tomorrow.
Does anyone know what this would be for?
Would it be just to pay the fee?
2016 wins: Screening of The Conjuring, Toy Bundle, Fitbit, DVD, book, Cool bag filled with drinks, Meal for 2 at Marygreen Manor, NFL tickets & Marriott hotel stay.
Rough value £760

Wishlist! A holiday to Vegas or NY.

    Hi all,

Was your first appointment just a fact finding one, or did the interviewer help you to complete an application form?

I'm not sure why she didn't tell you the purpose of your next appointment but obviously you don't have to wait for long to find out.

You won't have to pay the fee until you can afford it. In my case, I couldn't afford a lump sum and so I had to drag the matter out for three months where I just paid £30 each month. (I really was that poor - and far too proud to ask anyone for help or even let anyone know how I was struggling.)

Don't forget that those people at Money Wellness are there to help you and if you have any questions at all, please do ask. They don't mind.

Also, please try not to worry. For me, having a DRO was one of the best things I ever did. I'm not going to say it was an easy time but it was certainly a good thing for me to do. You're on the way now to a better time, if my own experience is anything to go by.

Just relating my own thoughts, experiences and opinions here - and I wish you all the very best. The only way is up!

As fatbelly said above, do keep in touch.   :)

You don`t pay the fee at this point.

The process is quite easy and simple, they go over everything, and put your proposal together, you then have to OK it, then it is submitted.

At some point you will need up to date balances of all included debts, to make certain you are not over the 30k limit.
You will need copies of credit reports for this, they also make sure your budget is within limits, in this case you must have £75 per month disposable income or less.

I would say your 1st interview today was to ascertain your suitability for a DRO, and tomorrow you will start the actual application process.

Hi matt.warman83 - like faatbelly says, this unfortunately happened to me with Wellness and I ended up going via Citizens Advice who were great and I can recommend.
