Cleaning the dirty grout on kitchen tiles.

Hi there folks,
Kitchen has been tiled from the late eighties and the kitchen wall tile grout is not too clean, I have tried cleaning with a cloth but no good.
Just wondering if any of you have any ideas to get the grout looking cleaner again, I have seen things like grout cleaner pens, any of you have used these, or any other suggestions.
Many Thanks

Toothbrush and weak bleach solution.3

Toothbrush & Cif or supermarket own brand cream cleaner. If that doesn’t work, I’ve used Unibond Grout Reviver and Ronseal Grout pens in the past. Worked well to freshen up kitchen & bathrooms prior to house sale. Cheaper brands available but no idea how well they work3

I used this stuff. It stinks to high heaven but smell clears after 24 hours ish. You spray it on, leave for 30 mins, then clean off. Totally cleaned my bathroom tiles like new. It's strong stuff so go careful with it.

Thanks just tried a Unibond pen, not bad at all, brightens it up a lot, now to buy three or four more where ever the cheapest place to get them, the old miser still remains...lol0

As a guy before me said, toothbrush and some bleach does wonders. However, swapping bleach with white distilled vinegar might be better according to some recent tiktoks I saw0

I used acrylic paint and a little brush (the stuff you’d use if you wanted to paint a picture) on the grout in the kitchen. Above and behind the old oven particularly, the grout had oranged and browned. Cleaned it, dried it, bleached it, dried it, tried all sorts, still looked grim. Painted it. Still white, ten years later (I didn’t expect it to last, but it has). Being acrylic paint, it can be sprayed, wiped, whatever, doesn’t seem to harm it. As a last resort, if your grout is white or off-white, might be worth a go.0

I just use thick bleach with a bit of water; I've never even needed to scrub.0

In our shower I used lots of rolled up in strips of toilet roll soaked in bleach and left it overnight. Worked a treat.1

Mix some laundry powder with some bleach to make a paste. Apply to the grout with an old toothbrush and leave to dry, then wipe off. If it’s mould, Cillit Bang mould remover works well.0

If it's white I would give it a good scrub (with a paste as people suggest) and then grout pen over it. It's stained over time so if you wash it down you'll know it's clean at least and a grout pen will be the easiest way make it look good.1
