Smart meter electric not picking up

Hi with British Gas, smart meter was working ok, then about 6 weeks ago had a few power cuts, whether this caused the problem can’t be sure, now only the gas is showing readings, although it seems it must be connecting to the meter as I can get meter readings for both. So when the smart meter cycles at 12.30 in the morning only the standing charge of 34p shows for the gas, it shows usage on the smart meter when I use a kettle for instance, but it won’t show the amount in money used during the day. Any ideas anyone?

Hi,are you talking about the IHD (gadget) or the actual smart meter? Is your online account showing up to date readings?0

Switch off the IHD and then power back upNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

I have tried turning off/on the IHD and it stays the same, I have moved the IHD near to from door but it does the same, only showing gas reading. On my online account on British Gas app, it doesn’t show any readings since I had the problem (6 weeks ago) but as I have said I can get meter readings from both smart meters on the IHD (and they have increased, showing usage)0

Download the free App BRIGHT and check whether you can see gas and electricity usage. If you can see data in the app, then your WAN connection to the DCC network is working. If electricity data is missing, then BG might have to ask the DCC to carryout a remote comms hub reset. Power is turned off to the hub for 15 minutes. If this fails, an engineer visit may be required to pull the main house fuse.Negseven_2 said:I have tried turning off/on the IHD and it stays the same, I have moved the IHD near to from door but it does the same, only showing gas reading. Hi, have got the bright app installed, and it took a day to see any data. Weirdly I can only see electricity readings and have nothing for gas? Whereas on my IHD I can only see the gas readings accumulate and nothing for the electric?0
