Your solicitor and executor is correct - they can do nothing until this claim is settled. Have you been to mediation yet? You really need to look at the desired outcome. If its going to cost tens of thousands to fight this in the courts, compared to giving your sibling an amount of the estate, then doing the latter will ensure that the matter is resolved sooner rather than later.
To be honest, I’m not entirely sure why you need someone to pay for your rent and food. Who paid for it when your parent was alive? When did your parent write their will? Does your sibling claim that the will that excludes them has been written under duress?

Is the Executor a professional (whose costs would be paid) or a family member/friend who is not a beneficiary?

Do you have 'an axe to grind' with the claimant i.e. is there animosity between you, or rather was there before they contested the will?
The executor is a professional law firm, the family member is not a beneficiary.

The claimant wasn't in my life prior to this due to them being abusive towards me which went on for many years. In the end I had to protect myself and told them to please leave me alone.

I just want to say thank you all for the input. It seems there's nothing else I can be doing other than what I already am doing. I am going to remove this post to retain privacy as this is a legal case and I risk connected people reading this.
