PPI advice please SSB Law

I foolishly involved U Claims4Me to investigate a PPI claim....terrible company- lesson learned. I settled their payment for that back in 2022 & ignored all their ensuing spam letters and emails stating I can get more money. All ignored.
As far as I was, and am, concerned, that was a severance of any connection with them.
I've received a letter this morning ( 20/5/23) from U Claims that states they have concluded their investigations and feel SSB Law would be the best firm to represent me to get a further claim for PPI monies settled.
I have not instructed them to do this. I've not signed anything. I've had no communication with them at all.
When checking out SSB Law's website, there's a cancellation form on their customer pack with instructions to send it off if you want the investigation to stop but there 'might' be a fee.
What is the situation with this? Is this just spam? Can SSB Law charge a fee to cancel if i've not signed anything to agree their involvement? I have not entered into any contract with SSB other than U Claims saying they've passed it over to them.
I haven't yet received anything from SSB Law themselves.
any help gratefully received. Thx

Check the contract you originally signed.
People who sign up to PPI claims companies invariably sign a contract enabling the company to act for them on everything going forward.
Heaven knows why....
