Agreed, I think they should be knocking more than 3% off the price of this house, but without a link it is all just guesswork anyway.lookstraightahead said:Ignore other potential threats. Don't get into their silly games. Either offer more as final. Or say sorry this is final and look at other properties. We sold an inherited property that needed doing up and took an offer of about 8% under as the buyer was ready to proceed.Has the seller gone through probate? Is everything finalised as that could take ages.0 -
Thanks. The EA is going back to them to get some info regarding issues etc. Once these are cleared up I will make my final offer.lookstraightahead said:Ignore other potential threats. I'd ask something like "I won't be going up to "260k but might be able to increase a bit. What's the compromise price?"
If they tell you to get lost, then fine. If they say £258k you could counter with £255. When they don't accept it then say, "that's fine I'll look elsewhere but do tell me if you change your mind."I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I think out of everything, probate is the most important issue.Scrappycoco said:

No one is offering on the property BECAUSE its advertised as Under Offer so not showing unless you search SSTC. Its a rare person who would ask to view such a property.Sarah1Mitty2 said:

I have had a message from the seller this afternoon to say he was given to believe that the offer he received was from a buyer able to proceed. I was told they had a house to sell which hadn't had a single viewing.
He is happy and willing to accept my offer once he gets clarification from the agent. Unfortunately agent gone AWOL. He is furious with agent..Purple Bricks. They are not answering either his or my calls or messages left.
He said he is now going to contact the people who put in the offer to clarify their situation.
Im about to walk away!,0 -
Purple bricks are of course in a bit of a state at the moment having been sold for £1 to strike.Scrappycoco said:

Looks like the agent has bailed leaving me frustrated. Seller angry and anxious and at a loss what to do.
