    But you can have the 7% savings account without funding the current account with any minimum monthly payment, other than what you choose to pay into the regular saver anyway.

    Unless I am mistaken, First Direct require £1,000 to be paid in within the first three months, not £1,000 per month for three months. I hope I am not mistaken as I have opened one of their accounts recently and probably messed it up if I needed to deposit £1,000 per month!

    No, you're right, the mistake was mine, I didn't research an essentially tangential comment properly, the key issue being the second half of the sentence!
