PS3 questions

This year , the whole family has decided to buy my 2 nephews a PS3 by clubbing everyones money together for their birthdays and xmas present.

As the nominate dfamily geek , I have been nominated to go and source said item which I will do tomorrow.

However , during my research , I have found a few questions I need an answer to

Does the PS3 come with a cable from the PS3 to the controller. The GAME guy said it doesnt and is trying for another 10 quid to suppply one.

Secondly . Is there an equivalent to XBOX live with PS3 . How much does it cost?

And finally. How do PSP`s plug into it.

My ps3 controller came with a cable that connects into the PS3 thats how the wireless controller charges...you do only get 1 controller however (may need another for the 2 of them )
The PS3 has its own online facility it is free
and it plugs in with a kettle like plug which connects straight into the back of the PS3...there is no big block (like xbox 360)

Edit:-read the psp bit wrong ... don't have a psp so not sure...but I would imagine they either connect wireless or by usb ...

I have looked at some deals in the shop . Yet againa , everyone who promised money only started to pay up this week. Have £525 to spend on this kit , so hopefully ahve a bit left for their bank account.

FIFA 08 , Uncharted Drake , Call Of Duty ( the one not in world war II), Another controller and thast it I think.

Whats on the free live equivalent thing. DO they allow you to downloa ddemos and stuff.

Yes the online lets you d/l free demos etc ..not as good as xbox360 marketplace (in my Opinion) ...what I did however was buy the xmas PS3 mag..has all the latest downloads on there, just to save time d/loading etc ... Call of Duty4 is excellent....there are some good bundle bargains to be had also, so check those out before buying games separately etc

In game you can the console, plus 2 games ( wrestling and football) for £299.99

In gamestation call of duty is half price this week for £24.99

I think I will look at the ASDA package. TW08 would also get played as they loved LInks on xbox

Yes comes with cables for charging ye controllers.

Online is free, you can play games with other people, chat with other people, view trailers, play demos and buy mini games and even browse the internet.

Im guessing you will also want another controller as the ps3 only comes with 1 in the box.

If it is being plugged into a HD TV it may be a nice idea to get them a bluray movie to watch on it.
