Timescales for passport renewal

Hi, can anyone confirm the current timescales for an online passport renewal. (Assuming no issues arise) The passport office are quoting approx 10 weeks. Is this accurate.If not how long are people having to wait. Thanks in advance

Those timescales look pretty good, and much better than the 10 week official guidance.  I renewed 2 passports at the very start of the strike.  One was back in 4 days from confirmation that they had received the old passport, and the other in 7 days.

Renewed a child’s passport, which i received today and took me 3 weeks online including contacting referee to confirm identity, resubmitting child photo (taken at home) and having to send old passport back.

A couple of weeks ago, I submitted my passport renewal on line on a Friday and posted my old passport the same day. Tuesday the following week they confirmed receipt of my old passport and that they had printed my new passport. I received my new passport two days later on the Thursday (6 days in total). I used a digital photo and got it checked that it was satisfactory before applying.

I wanted to share that I submitted my application on Monday 3rd July (and sent old passport same day). I received my new one on Thursday 6th July (before 9.30am!).  Amazed - but very happy!

ETA - this was the standard renewal (not fast track)
