Yes I would love the law to be changed, the whole parking fine industry is an absolute disgrace.Coupon-mad said:I'd be damn angry at getting £170 debt demands from a scammer. Surely you want to change the law? We have ONE chance.
I'm a bit confused though as your signature says "don't pay but don't ignore it" yet that's what i'm being advised to do2 -
You are only told to ignore the debt collector letters. Debt collectors are not a party to the alleged contract the PPC are alleging you breached. The debt collectors will huff and puff and try to blow your house down but they are powerless. They are contracted to make gullible victims (the majority we suspect) poop their pants and pay up.RobJPL said:

Is your V5C up-to-date with the correct and full address? Don't guess, check. This is the normal reason for not receiving the original PCN because the PPC has ONE chance to get the keeper's address form DVLA whereas the debt collectors will use a soft trace.1

Yeah, correct address on the V5CLe_Kirk said:Is your V5C up-to-date with the correct and full address? Don't guess, check. No, same address.
But have you changed address since the alleged parking event?0 -
Smart Parking had this 'problem' once before, and had to admit it to the BPA. They blamed their debt collectors for omitting the NTK and just sending the wrong letter first. I saw the outcome from Steve Clark at the BPA.
Wonder if it's happened again? You can & should certainly report your concerns to the BPA even though Steve Clark no longer works there.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Would you be nervous if the village idiot tried to scam you ? Of course not, just so happens this bunch call themselves DRP which stands for "Don't Reply Please"RobJPL said:I'm obviously nervous about ignoring the "debt collectors" but there is no way I will be paying £170 for a minor infringement, especially as I haven't had any contact from Smart Parking. Not sure what they have done to ensure that I have received the parking fine in the first instance, surely if they want to guarantee someone receives a fine they should send it recorded or signed for.

What if you receive debt collection letter from DRP, but your name on the V5C was indeed incorrect?0

Do you have a PPC PCN you need help with? If so please start your own thread.Steverg109 said:What if you receive debt collection letter from DRP, but your name on the V5C was indeed incorrect?
