Energy Support Scheme

I have received this email from my mother's care home.

The Energy Bills Support Scheme which is open to all residents who live in a Nursing Home who are eligible to apply for the EBSS.

To be eligible to apply for this, residents either need to pay for their whole care, pay for part of their care or have their care funded through their local authority.

Applications from or on behalf of care home residents should include a copy of an invoice in the name of the applicant for care home fees, or a letter on headed paper from the care home owner/management to confirm the named applicant is partly or wholly self-funded.

These documents must be dated no earlier than three months before the application date and include the name and address of the care home.  As per attached information, if you require assistance, please call 0808 175 3287.  The EBSS is open to all eligible residents, application is open until 31/05/2023.

My mother pays towards her care home and qualifies for the Energy Support Scheme, so that she will get £400 placed into her bank account.

Please inform family and friends to see they know about this scheme.

Have the care home stated they will then expect that money to be handed over to them ?
