If a family with one son over 16, and one son over 10, and another over 10 now only gets three bed rate because one son used to be identified as female but now is correctly identified as their true gender, then how can UC decision maker do a correct change of circumstances?

at the moment this family has informed UC in the journal but the reply is still

I have raised the case with a Decision maker. They came back to me and advised that they couldn't make a decision because they don't have the details of change of gender “

what details do they need? Could a doctor or someone else just sign something that says this individual is no longer the gender that was stated in birth certificate?

it’s so hard to get a doctor appointment these days

You would need a legally binding document confirming gender reallignment.

I am sure this was discussed to death in your previous topic.

So you have three sons - but previously had two sons and a "identify as" daughter.

So your two sons share a room and your daughter would have their own room.

But now you have three sons the over 16 is counted as having one room and the two over 10 same sex/gender can share a room.  You can claim for your over 16 yr old as long as you are in receipt of child benefit. eg full time education (six form)

    Taken from Shelter website.

    2. Work out your bedroom entitlement

You can usually claim for 1 bedroom for:

    • you - and a partner if claiming as a couple

    • each other couple (only if you claim HB)

    • each other person aged 16 or over (even if part of a couple if you claim UC)

    • 2 children under 16 of the same sex

    • 2 children under 10 of any sex

    • any other child under 16

You have been given information on Gender Recognition Certificate on several occasions and you commented how it was unfair that it coudnt be done until age 18

That’s not true! You were given advice on your other thread which was closed and then removed.

they've already been advised of the Law which states that universal credit will use the birth certificate or gender recognition certificate only to determine benefits entitlement
