I vaguely remember your previous thread about your PIP outcome.  What's the reason for not currently having two hearing aids?

PIP does work on the assumption that if things are bad enough people will seek help for them, an approach which totally ignores the reality of a) adapting and getting used to increasing difficulties without really realising, and b) the various difficulties in arranging and attending appointments which may or may not actually help.  But with hearing aids it is reasonable to assume that somebody would use two if they need them, unless there is a specific reason why not (e.g. frequent ear infections, or hearing aids don't help despite trying lots of adjustments, or the CCG refuses to prescribe two as a matter of policy*, etc.).
*genuinely was the case for a few years in one area, I wonder how many people struggling with one aid during that time know that policy was rescinded and to go and get their second HA … [/end off-topic]

yes that is correct, you need aids for both ears or one ear without a hearing aid as it makes no difference.

If you can hear out of one ear without an aid you wont score. If you only wear one as it won't make a difference to your hearing in that ear, you will score.

So if I have an aid in my "bad,"severe hearing loss" ear and no aid in my "moderately severe hearing loss" ear I will not score points? thanks.

You didn't answer the question that Spoonie asked here.
What's the reason for not currently having two hearing aids?

Sorry,I only had one because left ear was badly affected by not hearing in the normal speech frequencies.I was due to go back for the other ear,but appointment was cancelled due to Covid and despite repeated requests for a new appointment I havent had one yet.The clinician told me to start with the first one to get used to it because it may feel strange,(which it did) so I await an appointment.
