Return Heavy Item

in brief i bought a shower tray on ebay at a buy now price not auction.
shower tray arrived and on checking decided im not happy with quality.
contacted seller through ebay returns and seller replied via ebay contact but not via ebay refund . In other words my initial request for return via ebays returns policy has been circumnavigated by the seller .
The seller has twice told me that he has arranged for the item to be picked up and returned to themselves but on both occasions noone has turned up for item .
As I assume I am now oporating outside of ebays returns policy how do I stand when I contact seller about yet annther faild show to pick item up .
As item is so large and heavy I really dont want the hassle of returning it myself and also I can imagine the cst been high.

Can you clarify OP, have you opened a returns request? If so what option did you pick for returning the item?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

i opend a returns request but the seller has indecated to me that they will handle the returns process as they claim its faster than ebays process so I have gone along with that .

So is the return still open?

yes returns still open i opend a returns request but it looks like the seller is unwilling to use ebays return mecanisim and is saying they will handle it .Hence the two non collections .Keep in your thoughts the poor Beasts of burden around the World and curse All who do them harm.0

OP if you opened the return using one of the options that covers the item not being as described then the seller has to issue a label or arrange the collection, if they don't after 3 business days you can ask eBay to step in and help.
They'll likely put the case on hold and ask the seller to sort out the return and eventually they'll refund you.
If you opened a return with one of the options that covers the return being change of mind and the seller says in the returns section on the listing they pay the return postage then the above applies IIRC.
If they state the buyer pays for the return then I believe it's generally down to you to sort the return although eBay may consider any messages the seller has sent.
Best bet is to contact eBay via the help section and see what they advise.
Assuming this was a business seller (rather than a private seller) there are "consumer rights" but it's probably easier to get it sorted with eBay's assistance if possible. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
