Are all "hard searches" same?

I applied for a new SIM only deal before yesterday and I have a new hard search on my credit files.
Just wondering if lenders see it as telecom search or just a search? Does it have any different (lower) impact than hard search for a credit card or a loan?

There's no difference - credit is credit, whether it's a loan, credit card, mortgage, phone contract, whatever.  But one search is neither here nor there - it's only when you have a large number of searches in a short space of time that lenders start to get jittery.

Thanks. I think someone on here once said lenders can see what type of search it is, but I don't remember where it was. Are you sure it's just "application for credit" and nothing else? In my case it's just a SIM-only 30 days rolling contract.
