ILoveFilm Free DVD rip off?

To save making a new thread, sorry for bumping this old one...
I was wondering, has Lovefilm gotten any better?
I saw that they give you now dvd rentals and online streaming and games rentals, well that is depending on which Lovefilm subscription you choose.
I'd also be tempted to get a subscription, mostly interested in lovefilm streaming movies rather than in the dvd rentals, but I wanted to find out if it's any good before getting the actual lovefilm subscription.
Any of you guys still use Lovefilm to get your movies fix?0 -

yep i just finished my free trial last week and got a £20 amazon voucher for the trouble
i ensured i had no videos in my rental list with about 2 weeks left of the trial, watched the last of the films, returned them and cancelled leaving myself well over a week in case of technical mishaps.
6 free films to watch and £200 -

Hey Eric, cool.
Suppose you are not planning to get a lovefilm subscription after your trial ends, but would you say in the long run it would be worth it to get some lovefilm subscription for streaming movies online and getting dvd rentals sent your way?
Rather curious how good is their service and if you've had any troubles with the streaming movies or idk, something like this.0 -

for me the problem with streamed movies is the quality suxs, mind you i think virgin HD has poor quality
if your watching it on say a laptop it would be fine, on a 60" plasma then no
if you rent films from a traditional rental place then i can see lovefilms being a good deal, if you can remember to post them
i did find there choice of films fairly limited, but i tend to buy the blurays of the films i like0 -
Really? I would have expected they have at least decent quality for Lovefilm streaming movies, but hey you can't have it all I guess.
Idk, after all I suppose I can manage to stream and watch lovefilm movies on the computer and remember to post back the lovefilm dvd rentals you get from them.
They have a pretty interesting offer, the only thing I don't like is that you can't also download streaming movies from lovefilm to hardisk for offline watching plus their range of supported devices for streaming is fairly limited.0 -
Actually, I think they used to have some Lovefilm download to burn service some time ago, if I recall it right. It would let you download films from Lovefilm and burn Lovefilm videos to dvds or something like that.
Don't know what happened to that download and burn Lovefilm movies service, suppose it got discontinued or something similar.
I also would have loved to be able to download and save Lovefilm films to computer for transferring on some mobile device, since lovefilm streaming movies work only on computers, TVs with internet and ps3's.0 -
Idk, I don't recall ever seeing round there any option for me to download Lovefilm streaming movies and burn them to dvds or anything like this.
It would definitely be so cool to be able to download and save streaming movies from Lovefilm for offline watching or watching on the go on some mobile device, but hey since I suppose it's not possible yet I can make do with what they offer now.0 -
Lovefilm is pretty good now, especially for blurays which are available in plentiful supply even for new releases. Amazon have just bought them out so the service should stay good.0

Hmm the thing is that there would actually be some way to save Lovefilm streaming films, at least as far as I found out doing a google search on this.
Seems there are a couple of third party apps that are able to capture and record Lovefilm movies while they play or something similar.
Idk what to say, suppose it could come in handy for some offline watching but they say it's for personal use only.0
