Asbestosis

My FIL died in March this year, he was 80yrs old. On the interim death certificate it states "Asbestosis" as a cause of death along with other causes. His contact with asbestos was in his teenage years/20s. Although we knew of this, the coroner couldn't find anything in his medical notes to support this, and I think this is why there is going to be an inquest in August.
Different people have mentioned about compensation in relation to asbestos. Can anyone advise or give advice on this matter?
