Northwest Parking Management Ltd

Hi,
I recieved a £100 fine from these recently for not paying for parking. However, what happened was when I got the text to say reply with your reg, I mistakenly replied Yes thinking it was to confirm parking. I then got another text a few minutes later again asking me for my reg which I again replied Yes misreading it.

I appealed it and sent the screenshot of this text, as well as the invoice confirming that I did indeed pay the correct amount and explained that I just misread it. SO I have paid for parking just on the wrong reg. They said the fine still stands but will reduce it to £20 if paid within fourteen days but if I appeal then I lose this and it reverts to £100. Any advice? What should I do as although I misread it Im not sure what they can actually do?

Thanks

Same advice as here this week:

Get your revenge by responding to the Government's final Public Consultation in July.

I'm in the same position. I appealed and lost cos I didn't put all my reg number in. But I have proof I paid, I have the ticket receipt and bank statement.

And the advice is consistently the same.

You almost certainly cannot win at POPLA in this scenario, and IMHO should consider paying the £20 and getting your revenge this Summer.

    OR

...just ignore the toothless idiot £170 debt demands - obviously! - and wait for the court claim and defend it (where you would almost certainly win and there is no CCJ risk if you follow our advice).

Either make sense.  Depends on which route you prefer.

But either way, PLEASE all bookmark the top sticky thread by MSE_JC (and read the later posts in it - NOT THE FIRST POST - to understand what I'm talking about re taking part in the upcoming Public Consultation).
