Octopus IHD Not Showing Gas Consumption

I am with Octopus Energy for electicity and British Gas for gas. I have the latest smart meters for both services and have after a long wait finally received my IHD from Octopus energy. It happily shows the data from the electricity meter but even after 4 weeks fails to show any gas usage. I also have an old IHD from British Gas which shows gas usage only but not electricity. I have contacted Octopus Energy from them saying initially 'give it a couple of weeks', they now say that as gas is supplied by British gas, the Octopus Energy IHD won't show gas. This is plalnly nonsense as having 2 IHDs is clearly not what is intended,. Just to add to this discussion, when I was bored waiting for a IHD from Octopus I purchased one from Ivie and signed up to them and their device works perfectly on both services, just needing an MPAN to get it going. Where do I go from here, I rather like the Octopus IHD and would like it to display data from both services. Any ideas from anyone here ?

Each company can only program their own IHD to show use so it's not possible to only have one display for gas and electricity if you're with different suppliers.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Provided the gas meter is paired to the comms hub via the HAN, then a single IHD will show both electricity and gas information irrespective of the supplier. A SMETS 2 comms hub can have up to 4 IHDs/CADs paired to it.Alnat1 said:Each company can only program their own IHD to show use so it's not possible to only have one display for gas and electricity if you're with different suppliers.0 -
Thanks for the comments. So how can I make mine work? If not me, who would do this?[Deleted User] said:

Talk your gas supplier or switch your gas supply to Octopus. Were your gas and electricity smart meters installed at the same time?geoffrogers said:

Both smart meters were updated at the same time as the old ones failed. They are the most up to date ones or so I've been told. Could B Gas make the Octopus IHD work with their supply. I'm actually tempted to move to Octopus for both fuels as they are cheaper for gas as well, but at the moment don't necessarily want to do so for a one trigger reason. It might be the best solution I suppose. Just to say I was a Bulb customer migrated to Octopus after the takeover.[Deleted User] said:

SMETS2 meters are supplier agnostic. There is no such thing as an Octopus IHD or a BG IHD. They are just devices built to a common technical specification. IHDs connect to the comms hub.geoffrogers said:

Are you sure that your gas meter is SMETS2? The chance of both meters failing at the same time is infinitesimally small. Is your meter arrangement similar to the graphic above?0 -

Yes, here's a few photos of the setup in the gas and elec cabinets:

One further check, is the gas LED flashing normally on the comms hub? The rate should be once every 5 secs. If this is normal, then you will need to speak to BG and ask them to resolve the problem. That said, it would be a lot easier if you switched your gas supply to Octopus. Octopus has an excellent smart meter team. Smart meter issues are more easily resolved when a single supplier is responsible for the complete installation.0

I'm actually seriously considering a switch actually to Octopus for both fuels, I'll give it a little while and see what happens. Life is too short to worry about what should be sometimes, and the gas rate from Octopus is slightly cheaper than BG.[Deleted User] said:One further check, is the gas LED flashing normally on the comms hub?
