Hi I'm currently receiving reduced PIP and I have only recently found out that I can get 50% reduction on my car tax (own car)
My tax is due at end of this month and as I have never claimed this reduction before I am unsure if I should risk sending off all relevant paperwork etc to DVLA now in case I dont get the car taxed in time or should I pay the full amount and try to claim back the 50%???
Thanks for ant advice

The easy way is to go to the post office the first time. Then online every year after.I get free tax but this is what I did.Take your Log book/ V5, Mot, Insurance and the certificate that PiP gave you. I think they need the Ni number so PiP letter will cover that. Will look like this, I will add a pictue in 10 mins. Ipad battery is flat. Not able to post it as was removed from my last post.Plus Ive deleted the photo. Is called a Certificate of Entitlement to PiP serial number 1236543 for eg.My car was changed to Disabled on the log book, not sure if yours will be.1

Sending off the required documents is the only way to get the 50% reduction on car tax.Dustyduncan said:Hi I'm currently receiving reduced PIP and I have only recently found out that I can get 50% reduction on my car tax (own car)

I would either photocopy or scan the documents before you send them off0 -
That only applies to those entitled to free car tax.Bigwheels1111 said:The easy way is to go to the post office the first time.
