I'm looking for a more permanent solution to install under my sink. I'm in London, UK, so very hard water and partially a lead pipe in the rising mains in the building (built in 1910s).
I've heard that with RO you need to add the minerals back to the water especially if you have a baby (we do), so I was looking for something that just does what Brita does (but maybe more efficiently).

Reverse Osmosis system. Get one with the pump and use to waste water to water your garden, or whatever. Without the pump you may not have enough water pressure. You need around 4 bar and for every gallon produced around a gallon is pumped from the system. A lot of people waste this near pure water by pumping it down the drain.
Example only....https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401711904416?
There's no need to add any minerals, even for a baby. Your/baby diet should contain sufficient minerals. We're really pleased with ours, no furred kettle and tea, coffee tastes great. No longer trainee
