Part Settle or Fully Settle Debts?

Hi,
Lets say I had a Credit Card Debt with Natwest - that is over 6 years old.
And I choose to part settle it.
Even though over 6 years old, would still be on file with Natwest.
And say I applied for a mortgage with them.
I am guessing a full settlement would look better to them than a part settle?
Or is part / fully settled over the 6 years - viewed at the same?
Thanks

I wouldn't apply for a mortgage with someone you've defaulted on at all - especially if still not settled.0
