vodafone broadband moving abroad early termination fee

I'm being told in the chat that I would be charged early termination fee from my vodafone broadband contract, for moving abroad.
I explicitly asked this before I signed up and was told that if they couldn't offer a service where I went there would be no fee. However now they're saying that doesn't apply if you move abroad.
Has anybody managed to get them to waive the fee?

It's not Vodafone's issue that you are moving abroad and need to exit the contract early.
You'll need to pay.

Yes I think its granted that online chat isn't exactly the most reliable source of a company's procedures in various situations, but I think it also should go without saying that if you move out of the UK, they won't be able to supply your new address in Spain or wherever you're moving to, so... Don't be surprised you're being hit for exit fees.1
