Superdeal / Economy 10 meter reading codes

What do AR1 BR R01 R02 ELA ELB stand for on an electricity meter?

It is an old Superdeal? / Economy 10 meter
The front of the meter says Two Element Radio Telemeter, Solid State Digital, Type 5226C-A
I have managed to work out which reading represents what:-
R01 = Day
R02 = Night
ELB = Stored
Now I am just curious where the letter codes are derived from.
R for Rate is fair enough, but what do AR, BR and EL stand for?
I am trying to guess what words start with those letters!

    Looking at the reads you posted it looks like:

    R01 - Domestic day rate
    R02 - Domestic low rate
    B03 - Heating rate (will be at low rate)
    ELA - Total Domestic consumtion (R01+R02)
    ELB - Total Heating consumption (same as B03 as all heating will be on the cheap rate)

    So, the 3 reads you need to give are (probably) R01/R02/B03.....that said it's probably best to talk to someone at Southern to confirm this.

  • Thanks for looking that up - a blast from the past!
    However, I had already worked out which was which. I was just curious to know what the letters stand for. I find it easier to follow things if the acronyms stand for something.
