Outlook App

Is there a way to change the font on Outlook App for iPhone? The font when I sent an email from my phone looks really unprofessional but I’m stuck on how to change this.

Thanks

Microsoft said in 2021 there is no way to change the font... can't see a more up to date comment from them but equally can see no way of changing it so looks like you are limited to the default.

Do you mean people receiving emails from you get them in an unprofessional font?

As above, searching google tells me there's no way to change the default font of an email. Perhaps you mean the font outlook uses to show you emails? [the display font]. If so, that might be a phone-wide system setting.

The default font from the Outlook app is Calibri, how is that "really unprofessional"?

It is a more modern looking font (and the one we use by default in emails), though not vastly different from Arial. There are clearly plenty who prefer the more traditional times new roman.

I can understand that for some there is a link between traditional and formal and therefore professional but its a big stretch to say calibri is unprofessional. That said, a US contract written in Calibri would look very odd!

    Hello,

I have checked a blog post for you ...found this solution hope it helps you

Step 1: Open the Outlook app on Windows. Click on the New Email button at the top-left corner.

Step 3: Start typing body message, and Outlook will enable a formatting bar at the top.

Yep, from memory Calibri was designed to work well with screens, where as Arial is a Helvetica derivative, although all are sans serif where as Times New Roman is designed for print and is a serif font.

I have to sign more legal documents (contracts than NDAs) than I care about and US based companies all seem to use serif fonts for those, where as UK and EU based companies are almost entirely sans serif. More recently there does seem to be a bit of a trend for a serif headline font and a sans serif body font on presentations and documents which to me is bad from a design perspective, but it seems to be the latest "on trend" thing to do, if a company is spending a few hundred thousand on a rebrand.

At least it is not Times New Bloomin' Roman!

Doesn’t really help the OP, they are using the Outlook app on iOS. Makes me suspect “deskhelp” is actually ChatGPT or the like.

Oops, didn’t think anybody could be offended by that.

Yes, AI thinks it's logical to jump from 1. to 3.
