Supply chain issues

My Peugeot van has been sat outside a main dealer site since 07/02/23 awaiting parts. I contacted Peugeot Customer Services for help ( at the suggestion of the main dealer ) to get a delivery date for the parts. Only after a month did they offer any help and this has consisted of sending emails to their Parts Hub. Twice I've been told that my parts are being shipped but then nothing.
I've lost £10,000 income with no end in sight.
Can anyone suggest anything further I can do to expedite matters? Do I have any Consumer rights? Can I claim loss of earnings?
As a nationwide courier I do very high miles so no rental Companies seem to want to rent me a van.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. I've posted comments on their Social Media sites again today but am not hopeful of any real help forthcoming.

There are still global issues with the supply of automotive parts, it is not that the parts are sat in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be sent out, they just do not exist yet. The biggest issues are with parts containing semiconductors but there are also issues with other parts as well.

Would it not make sense to rent another can in the interim, or even buy a cheap van to last the weeks/months until yours is fixed?

If the part is not available then it is not available, no amount of complaining to the dealer or rights can magic one up. You could attempt to source a part from a breakers, or see if there is a pattern part available (Peugeot themselves will only use genuine parts) and have that fitted elsewhere. No you cannot claim loss of earnings.

Do you mean none will rent you a van, or none will rent you a van at a price you like?

Social media will not get you anywhere, the issue is the parts shortage.

How old is the van, what is the part and do you own or lease the van?

Well they cannot give you a part they don't have so there's no point pushing on that door. Equally I don't think you would be entitled to claim for any loss of earnings unless you could show they've been negligent and that's somehow caused your loss. You would also have been expected to minimise your losses by hiring or buying something else in the meantime.

I was going to explore if any consumer rights avenues might work - e.g. at some point surely the van becomes unrepairable and they would have to refund you (less usage)? BUT your van is used for business purposes so you are a business customer not a consumer and therefore no consumer rights laws apply to you.

That being the case you are pretty much tied to any terms you agreed to with Peugeot and nothing more. You can certainly get the van back and go elsewhere.

Some components  were made in Ukraine.

production has been affected by the war in Ukraine.

Did you buy new from Peugeot? Or is this a 2nd hand van?

Guessing this is a warranty claim, as such they have loss of earnings covered in the T/C.
As a business, no consumer rights.

Do you not have any insurance to cover loss of earnings?

In reality. Best bet get another van, & then sell it once you get the other back.

They can’t magic parts from thin air.

As a business, you’re expected to have contingencies in place for things such as this. You wouldn’t be able to claim back loss of earnings and you don’t have any consumer rights.
