Claiming ESA query

My OH applied for ESA 2 months ago, for NI credit only due to circumstances. We've completed the health questionnaire but not heard back on whether his claim is successful or not.
However, today we received 2 letters, one asking for another sick note which is in hand.
The other is a certificate of pay and tax breakdown, the paye reference is ESA/500 does this mean his claim has been accepted? There is no supplementary information to it.
Additionally, what's the trick to uploading a fit note through the fit note portal as we couldn't get it to recognise the PDF the Dr sent through and printing it off and trying to upload a photo didn't work either.
Thank you

Sounds like the claim has been accepted on a credits only basis, as they are asking for another fit note.
When you try to print the fit note, look at the different printers that are listed. You should see a print to PDF option. It should then allow you to save it giving it a file name. Then try to upload the new fit note file on the Gov.uk send fit note website, ensuring you provide the national insurance number. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

He will still need to go through the work capability assessment and if found to have Limited capability for work then he'll receive NI credits.

Make copies of everything you send it helps no end, if the claim can be done just using the information provided then it can be done just using that information without a face to face interview. Anything you send get proof of posting certificate from the post office it's free.1
