Hi guys, appreciate a bit of advice please.
I am 76 ,July.
just had renewal form for driving licence.
tried online, as I have in the past, I do not have a passport, failed ?
photo I’d. No passport .
I am sure I have uploaded my photo from my iPad, on the last 2 renewals ?
not an option today.
have to go to Photo Booth ?
can you upload a photo ?
Cheers

I'm sure that the last two online, over 70, renewals I did only required a picture if your face had/has changed since the last time the licence was issued. The photo on current licence is about 10 years old.1

Thanks O.
I am positive I did photo on iPad and uploaded it, at 70/73.
never been to a booth for years, unless going a bit senile😴
it never gave an option to do so this time .
no passport, no online application, supposed to be free and easy !0 -
Just found this on Gov site.
DVLA will get the photo and signature for your new driving licence from your passport. If this is not possible you will not be able to change your photo online.
must be going senile, unless it’s changed ?0 -
Just checked diary for 2020.
did it online, no photo,
confirmation e mail.
came a week later .

Have you got a recently issued blue passport? One which you have to sign yourself rather than the digitised signature being already on there? If so, this apparently means you can't renew your driving licence online, as the DVLA can't get your signature from the Passport Office.
Mine's due next January, so I'm expecting a problem!1 -

I renewed my licence online lSeptember ast year at 82. The photo they used was from my previous pasport - when I then changed it for a Medical Licence in January they still used the old photo. Sometimes they do ask for a new picture. You might find this a handy tooll - I use it for passport type photos for trade identity documents that I produce for clients0
