Hi all

I get pip enhanced mobility and daily needs.

I don't drive buty husband does..we only use the car mainly weekends and he also drops me off at a local transport to get.to.woek in the city

He also takes me into work if I work a weekend shift. He collects me from places of needed. The only time he would use it without me being there would be going to the shops to get food or something for the house which I would use.

It says on the website that a nominated driver can be done if you don't drive as long as the car is used for my needs an not for personal use. How strict are they with it and how do they check?

You could argue that every journey he makes benefits you, whether that's doing the shopping for both of you or him going out just to give you a break.
In practice, as long as you genuinely qualify, no one will check and it won't be an issue.

You need your log book-V5, insurance and mot.
Then go to the post office to change it over to disabled, well that’s what I did in January 2017.
Just remember to photocopy the original, then use the photocopy. Trust me, as if you later change vehicle’s the post office
will not accept the original if the have written another reg on it.
This is what mine looks like.

It will have your Ni above etc.

If you do not have this letter, call PiP and ask for one. If you have a driveway you could stop the tax online on the
31-06-23 and tax it at the post office on the 01-06-23.

Don’t forget, the dartford crossing will be free after about 6 weeks, call to check.
M6 toll exemption, is £7 a year and uses anpr. You just drive up to the barrier in the first 2 slow lanes and it opens.
London congestion charge exemption is £10 for 3 years ie length of blue badge, renewal is free if done within a certain amount of time. I think.
Still might need to pay ULEZ, but disabled drivers can get a 4 year exemption, not sure if you need to live in the area though.

Never been asked in 7 years about why I’m driving a tax exempt vehicle and for who or what purpose.
I would reply her in doors aka the boss said go get or drop off this etc.
