Additional Cancellation Travel Insurance

Hi, I'm booking a cruise/stay holiday to Australia in March 2025, 22 months time from now.

I already have a rolling annual worldwide travel insurance, but this only covers £3000 for cancellation, so need a addon insurance to cover the rest.

Everywhere I have tried only covers upto about 18 months ahead.

All your recommendations say book the insurance as soon as you book the holiday, but I can't find one.

If I book the holiday now but not the addon insurance until 4-5 months time, will they still cover the cruise if it's cancelled?

Right now you are presumably only paying a deposit and so within the £3k limit, though be careful how the limit is expressed!

Assuming that is right then you need to buy the single trip before the time you get liable to pay anything more than you already have. There is a minority of budget policies that say the policy must exist before the booking, its more common on budget annual policies, but just double check before pressing the buy button.

Can you do an add on with the ins you have? We had to add extra days to ours as the limit was 31 days, they just charged us pro rata for the extra days (Nationwide) call your ins company and explain the situation.
